Purpose
A residency for changemakers
Regenera Phase III is a 3-month residency for community-oriented changemakers who want to build more regenerative, resilient, and collaborative cultures and systems.
Through a shared learning pathway and the daily practice of living and creating in community, we'll develop essential human capacities for navigating complexity, collaborating effectively, and deepening in relationship, thereby strengthening our ability to create a world of mutual care and interdependence.
Together, we'll develop self-leadership skills; practice and integrate new ways of relating; and connect to our aliveness, authenticity, and wholeness. We'll support one another's unfolding through practicing a set of core competencies: Returning to Self-Connection, Emotional Healing, Transformational Listening, Authentic Expression, Conflict Transformation, Collaborative Decision-Making, Taking Purposeful Initiative, and Stewardship.
This is a residency for community builders, facilitators, organizers, artists, healers, educators, social entrepreneurs, solarpunks, systems thinkers, and practical (r)evolutionaries seeking to deepen their capacity to create in service of life.

Location
In the foothills of the Pyrenees
Phase III of the Regenera project will take place at Château du Faune, a Center for Art & Ecology located in the foothills of the Pyrenees in southwest France. Our hosts are Pat and Coco, who have been stewarding the land for the past year while hosting gatherings and artist residencies that cultivate connection to nature, animals, food, and slow living.
The region offers a rich setting for exploration, connection, and regeneration. The Ariège has long attracted people experimenting with more conscious ways of living, from ecological farming and permaculture to intentional communities.

What the Château offers

Room for up to thirty
Château du Faune can accommodate up to 30 guests in the main chateau and annex apartment. Rooms are shared between 2-4 people. A limited number of rooms with private bathrooms are available.

The dining hall
All spaces are heated by a wood fired furnace. Wifi is connected throughout the house and turned off at night by a timer. Most rooms can be used as co-working, meeting, or cozy lounge spaces, and can be closed off for privacy.
Community Immersion Days
Three days to open each month
Arrival: October 1 · Departure: December 22 (with the option to stay through December 31)
At the beginning of each month in Phase III (2–4 October, 6–8 November, and 4–6 December), we gather for three Community Immersion Days. These days lay the foundation for the month ahead and are required for all participants. The immersions are also open to people joining from outside the residency who wish to take part in a training in building regenerative culture.
Participants joining the residency in November must arrive in time for the 6–8 November immersion. Participants joining in December must arrive in time for the 4–6 December immersion.
The focus will be on:
- Exploring the principles and practices that support regenerative community culture
- Building a shared language through key distinctions, embodied practices, and relational exercises
- Weaving the community and welcoming new participants
- Shaping the intentions, experiments, and research questions that will guide the month ahead
Daily & Weekly Structure
A weekly rhythm
Our daily and weekly living outside of the Community Immersion Days will include the following:
- Morning movement and contemplative practices
- At least one daily co-created and shared meal
- Group sessions 4-5 times per week, which will include group field/circle technologies, radical relating spaces, and healing processes
- Weekly Pod practice to focus on developing your leadership
- Weekly 90-minute Building & Grounds sessions, contributing to the chateau teams: Stewards, Gardens & Food, Animals & Events
- Weekly 60-minute Home Care sessions (cleaning and tidying our common spaces, bathrooms, etc.)
- Weekly time for documenting and sharing experiment results through social media posts, newsletter updates, videos, and podcast recordings
- Weekly solo/recharge time
- “Adventure” days to explore and build relationships with other community projects
Digital Detox
In this residency we will create a culture of presence with other beings and our surroundings. At the start of our time together, we co-create agreements for mindful media consumption and technology use, including the spaces and times during which we use screens. These agreements may be re-negotiated during the residency as needs arise.
For example: screen use limited to a co-working space, Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00, with agreed-upon exceptions (e.g. exercise videos, movie night, or evening calls across time zones).
Note: This is a substance-free residency.

What the contribution covers
The rates listed below are all-inclusive, covering housing, food, and organizing costs. Our aim is that cost is not an obstacle to anyone participating. If money is an issue, please get in touch and we will see if we can provide support via scholarship opportunities or work exchange.

Communal Food
Produce, dry goods & household items will be provided by the chateau. Produce is sourced directly from the grounds of the chateau, two nearby organic farms, and one organic produce shop in town. Dry goods, household goods, and cleaning products are sourced from an online bulk organic association, with a preference for French or Spanish labels (about 80% of dry goods are from France). Meat and dairy are not included.
Contribution Levels
There are four possible contribution levels. The Standard contribution covers your participation in the residency. Those with greater financial capacity may choose a Community Builder, Network Weaver, or Cultural Catalyst contribution, which helps fund select scholarships and the long-term development of Regenera. Contribution level does not affect standing, voice, or access within the residency.

Payment & Deposit Policy
For stays of less than one month, we ask for the full participation fee to be paid within 7 days of acceptance. For stays of one month or longer, we ask for a non-refundable 300 € deposit to be paid within 7 days of acceptance to reserve your place. This deposit is deducted from your total contribution.
Your place is confirmed once we've received your payment. The deposit is non-refundable because it secures your place and supports our advance commitments and planning.
If this payment schedule doesn't work for you, please let us know in your application. We are open to explore alternatives, as long as they are agreed upon in writing before your place is confirmed.

- 1 month stays: The remaining balance is due 7 days before you arrive.
- Longer than 1 month stays: The first month's payment is due 7 days before arrival. After that, payments are due on the first day of each month.
- If you arrive partway through a month, your first payment is due before arrival, and your regular monthly payments start on the first day of the following month.
Travel
Getting here
The address of Chateau du Faune is 456 Grand Rue de Bellissen, France.
The nearest international airport is Toulouse (TLS). From TLS, the train to Foix (the nearest train station) takes about 2 hr. Foix is a 15-20 min drive from the chateau. We expect to be able to pick up people from the station.
Train tickets from Toulouse to Foix can be purchased via SNCF Connect or Trainline. Carcassonne also connects to Foix by train via Toulouse.
For those traveling internationally, Barcelona may offer more convenient flights and connects to Foix via La Tor de Querol. Use the Catalonian Rodalies de Catalunya app to search Barcelona to La Tor de Querol - Enveitg (3,5 hr). Use the French SNCF app to search Latour-De-Carol - Enveitg to Foix (1,5 hr). Note: There are currently repairs on the Rodalies de Catalunya R3 line, which may make travel more difficult. Please confirm train routes before booking.
Other options include BlaBlaCar (a popular carpooling platform) and hitchhiking, which is relatively common in this friendly, environmentally conscious region of the French Pyrenees. Talk to Ursula if you are considering walking the 34 hr from Toulouse to the chateau!

How to apply
To be a part of Regenera Phase III, you can now apply for a full residency (3 months), a partial residency (1 month or longer), or a visit (less than 1 month). The application process consists of the following three steps:

This form is designed to provide insight into your experience with transformational work, your motivation to create community, and the research areas you wish to explore with the Regenera team. Ideally, completing this form will be a meaningful self-examination and a mini-transformation experience in itself.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Will there be time for my personal work and projects?
During the Community Immersion days, we ask everyone to make themselves available for the full schedule. The remaining time of the residency combines some daily shared practices with a largely open schedule to support personal work and projects. A key aspect of the residency is learning how to integrate community and practice in daily life.
Do I have to attend all of the daily and weekly practices?
The daily and weekly practices listed above are considered essential aspects of the residency. The general understanding is that everyone agrees to participate consistently in these practices, but if there is an occasional schedule conflict with an outside commitment, we simply ask that people communicate with us in advance. Please reflect on your ability and willingness to commit to these shared practices before applying to attend.
Are meat and dairy allowed in the chateau?
Yes.
Can my partner or significant other come visit?
Yes, in most cases we are able to accommodate a partner visiting for a short period of time. Please contact regenera.life.project@gmail.com.
What is the process for requesting a scholarship or work exchange?
Our aim is that cost is not an obstacle to anyone's participation. If you are experiencing financial constraints, please send us an email at regenera.life.project@gmail.com describing: 1) your current financial situation; and 2) the specific amount of support you are requesting.
What happens when I apply to be on the waiting list?
If the residency is fully booked, you are welcome to submit an application to be on a waiting list. We will review your application and invite you to an interview if and when a spot becomes available. Note that this could even happen at the last moment if someone cancels unexpectedly.
