“Rooting in Community” is a three-day immersion for the community-minded and community-curious to engage in shared learning and practice, and deepen in meaningful and conscious relating inside of an intentional community, hosted at emerging Montpelier-based community Threshold Village and supported by community incubator Regenera.

The immersion

Participants will come away with

Tools and practices for taking radical care of and responsibility for themselves, each other, and the earth;
Systems for group decision-making, conflict transformation, and community-based collaboration; and
Hands-on work in organic vegetable production and regenerative agriculture models.

The rhythm of the days will include morning movement and contemplative practices, shared meals, facilitated group sessions, hands-on time working in the garden, self-directed relaxation time, and optional evening events. In addition, the group will have opportunities to explore the beauty of the Montpelier area, which includes beautiful hikes, waterfalls, and swimming holes.

Participants are invited to self-responsibility and community contribution by sharing in meal preparation, house care, and garden support.

Opening Circle

Friday, August 21st, 10 – 11:30 am

Departure

All participants will depart after the final group activity on Sunday, August 23rd, at 5 pm

Accommodations

In order to keep the cost of this immersion accessible, and to take advantage of the beautiful weather of an August in Vermont, participants will be camping on Threshold’s land. In the event that you don’t have camping gear, or camping would make this event inaccessible to you, please reach out, and we will do our best to meet your needs.

A typical day

A typical day in the community immersion may look like the following:

8 – 9 am Shared morning practice (meditation and/or movement)
9 – 10 am Breakfast and kitchen clean
10 am – 12 pm Facilitated group session on community building
12 – 2 pm Lunch preparation and shared meal
2 – 4 pm Garden work and organic vegetable production
5 – 6 pm Free time
6 – 8 pm Dinner preparation and group dinner
8 pm Optional evening activities, rest
